Do you ever get yourself into a little rat race, giving your health the backseat? Do you ever think that reading a book is a waste of time and that work is more important? Well, my friends, you need a little pat on the tush.
I do not want to hear that you cannot afford to. If you do not take care and educate yourself, do you know the doctor bills, prescription bills, etc. that will add up? How about, do you want people to have to take care of you?
All it takes is a trip to the local library. Still not sold? Go to some yard sales and thrift shops. Most may be found for a $1.00. Just grab yourself a few for spare change and never have to worry about thousands in the future.
What brought this on? I have a whole bookshelf of books that I kept to just "have" and read "some day". Well, I do not know if God is working in a mysterious way, but I broke down and joined a couple of Sparkteams about books. If you join a team about reading books, you kind-of have to, well, read books!
To begin, I wanted to read "The Carb Addicts Diet" book, but there was a book that was just sitting there saying "read me, read me". My mother bought the book for me at Dollar Tree for, obviously, a $1.00. It is sooooo good. The book is titled, "DASH diet Action Plan". OK, there is only one problem with this diet... no bread allowed for me. I LOVE ITALIAN BREAD. However, tons of veggies and I can handle that!
This is my personal example... I may not have full blown high blood pressure, but I DO want to prevent it. By reading "DASH diet Action Plan", I can prevent while also lose weight!
